2012 Olympic Tower Unveiled In London

The newest 2012 Olympic Tower was finally unveiled in London. The mayor of London, Mayor Boris Johnson, just unveiled the design of the newest spectacle to be constructed for the coming London 2012 Olympics. The designer of the said Olympic tower in London was Anish Kapoor – a Turner Prize winner.

“I am deeply honored to be invited to undertake this challenging commission. I am particularly attracted to it because of the opportunity to involve members of the public in a particularly close and personal way. It is the commission of a lifetime”, Anish Kapoor said. Kapoor designed the 115-meter dark red tower very uniquely and rare. It is indeed another great landmark for London.

This new Olympic tower which was named “The Arcelor Mittal Orbit” will serve the visitors of the 2012 Olympic games as a high viewing point at its top and an amazing tower on its bottom. The tower will be on the Olympic park and if you’ll be on its top, you’ll see an uninterrupted view of the London skyline.

Mayor Boris Johnson said, “Long after the Games over our aim is to have a stunning spectacle in east London that will be recognized around the world. I’m thrilled that when visitors from every corner of the globe plan trips to our must see attractions they will now eagerly include the Arcelor Mittal Orbit.” After completion of the 19.1 million pound newest spectacle, the Olympic Park Legacy Company will take ownership of this tower and will manage it for the visitors and tourists from all over the globe.
